You can import Microsoft Word documents (.docx) and OpenDocument files (.odt) directly into your project. Formatting like headings, lists, bold, and italic is preserved during the conversion.

How to import

1

Open your project

Navigate to the project where you want to import the document.
2

Use the import action

Right-click in the content tree and select Import, or use the import button in the toolbar.
3

Select your file

Choose a .docx or .odt file from your computer. Wigma converts it into the editor format and adds it to your content tree.
For best results, use heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) to structure your Word document before importing. Wigma maps these to its own heading levels.

What’s preserved

  • Headings (H1–H3)
  • Bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Blockquotes
  • Basic text alignment

Limitations

  • Embedded images are not imported yet
  • Complex tables and custom styles may not convert perfectly
  • Track Changes and comments are stripped during import
