While Wigma is a text-first editor, visual elements are crucial for many projects—whether you are writing a non-fiction book with charts, or building a fantasy world with maps and character portraits.

Images in the Editor

You can easily insert images directly into your manuscript. This is particularly useful for non-fiction writers, academics, and content creators.
1

Upload an Image

Drag and drop an image file directly into the editor, or use the /image slash command to select a file from your computer.
2

Resize and Align

Click on the inserted image to adjust its size and alignment (left, center, or right) to fit your layout.
3

Add Captions

Add a descriptive caption below your image. This is especially important for academic writing and accessibility.

Media in the Atlas

The Atlas is where your world comes to life, and visual references can help you stay immersed.

Character Portraits

Upload reference images or concept art for your characters to keep their appearance consistent in your mind’s eye.

World Maps

Attach maps to your Locations. This helps you track travel times and geographical relationships in fantasy and sci-fi settings.
When exporting your project to PDF or EPUB, Wigma automatically optimizes your images to ensure your final file size remains manageable without sacrificing print quality.
