Keep the big picture in view. Track word counts, set statuses, add notes, and monitor your project at a glance.

Content tree

Your writing lives in a tree of folders and documents in the left sidebar. You can:
  • Create folders to group related documents (e.g., chapters, parts, acts)
  • Drag and drop to reorder documents and folders
  • Rename items by double-clicking
  • Nest folders as deeply as you need

Scratches

Scratches are quick notes and drafts that live alongside your main content. Use them for ideas, outlines, or fragments you haven’t placed yet. Each project has its own scratches section in the left sidebar.

Labels

Assign color-coded labels to your documents to track their status at a glance. Common uses:
  • Draft, revision, and final states
  • POV characters or timelines
  • Any custom tagging system that fits your workflow
Labels show as colored dots in the content tree and as chips in the Outline view.

Word count & reading time

The Outline view displays per-document and project-wide statistics:
  • Word count
  • Estimated reading time
Use it to monitor progress and keep your project on track.
