Develop your concepts. Whether you’re building a fictional universe or structuring a political essay, Atlas gives you the tools to organize everything behind your writing.

What is Atlas?

Atlas is a structured space for the context that supports your work. It sits alongside your content tree and holds four types of entries:
  • Characters — people, personas, and voices in your writing
  • Places — locations, settings, and environments
  • Items — objects, artifacts, and important things
  • Lore — rules, history, timelines, and background knowledge
Each entry is organized in a tree, just like your content. You can create folders, reorder entries, and nest them as needed.

Characters

Character entries include a rich profile with:
  • A free-form description (full editor)
  • Custom attributes (name, role, traits, or anything you define)
  • An avatar
For a detailed guide, see Characters.

Places, items & lore

These entity types work the same way as characters: a profile with description and attributes, organized in the Atlas tree. Use them for anything that supports your writing — from world maps to magic systems to style guides.

Atlas and AI

Your Atlas feeds context to Wigma’s AI features. The grammar checker and character chat use your Atlas entries to understand your world, making their responses accurate to the names, terms, and rules you’ve defined.
